El fieltro como lenguaje común.

El pouf Ruff y la colección de alfombras Tramas son dos proyectos desarrollados por Romero Vallejo para GAN que comparten un mismo punto de partida: el fieltro como material expresivo y la voluntad de poner en valor el trabajo artesanal.

Ambos objetos nacen de la observación del material y de su comportamiento: su suavidad, su densidad, su capacidad para doblarse, cortarse o coserse manualmente. En Ruff, este material se convierte en una piel tridimensional que envuelve un volumen; en Tramas, en una superficie tejida que se despliega en el espacio.
Dos maneras complementarias de explorar un mismo lenguaje, entre la arquitectura y el textil, entre la estructura y la textura.

Pouf Ruff

Ruff es un pouf contemporáneo que combina geometría y gesto manual. Su estructura cilíndrica se reviste con una pieza de fieltro cortada y ensamblada a mano, cuyo pliegue recuerda a un cuello o volante, de ahí su nombre.

El proyecto surge de la intención de transformar un material plano en un volumen escultórico mediante una intervención sencilla y precisa. El fieltro, cálido y táctil, confiere a Ruff una presencia amable y atemporal, a medio camino entre el mobiliario y el objeto textil.

Cada pieza se elabora artesanalmente, siguiendo un proceso en el que se combinan técnicas tradicionales y diseño contemporáneo. El resultado es un pouf que trasciende su función y se convierte en un pequeño manifiesto de diseño material, hecho a mano, sincero y cercano.

El pouf RUFF se presenta en dos tamaños, un pouf alto de 40 cm y otro más bajo de 30 cm. La versión alta tiene un diámetro total de 70 cm, mientras que la versión más baja tiene un diámetro mayor, 100cm.

Colección de alfombras Tramas

Tramas representa la evolución natural de la investigación iniciada con Ruff: una exploración más amplia del fieltro y de sus posibilidades gráficas.

La colección parte de la superposición de bandas de fieltro cortadas y cosidas a mano, generando composiciones que combinan color, textura y relieve. Cada alfombra se construye capa a capa, como una arquitectura textil que revela la belleza de lo esencial: la unión, la costura, el gesto.

Tramas se inscribe en la tradición artesanal de GAN, pero la reinterpreta con un lenguaje contemporáneo que pone en valor la precisión del trabajo manual y la honestidad del material. Una colección que dialoga con la geometría, la escala y la luz, manteniendo el espíritu experimental y poético que caracteriza a Romero Vallejo.

Felt as a Common Language

The Ruff pouf and the Tramas rug collection are two projects developed by Romero Vallejo for GAN that share the same starting point: felt as an expressive material and the desire to highlight the value of craftsmanship.

Both objects arise from observing the material and its behavior — its softness, density, and ability to be folded, cut, or sewn by hand. In Ruff, this material becomes a three-dimensional skin that wraps around a volume; in Tramas, it becomes a woven surface that unfolds in space. Two complementary ways of exploring a single language — between architecture and textiles, between structure and texture.

Ruff Pouf

Ruff is a contemporary pouf that combines geometry and handcraft. Its cylindrical structure is covered with a piece of felt that is cut and assembled by hand, featuring a fold that resembles a collar or ruff — hence its name.

The project stems from the intention to transform a flat material into a sculptural volume through a simple yet precise intervention. The felt, warm and tactile, gives Ruff a friendly and timeless presence, somewhere between furniture and textile object.

Each piece is handcrafted through a process that combines traditional techniques with contemporary design. The result is a pouf that transcends its function, becoming a small manifesto of material design — handmade, honest, and approachable.

The Ruff pouf comes in two sizes: a tall pouf (40 cm high) and a lower one (30 cm high). The taller version has a total diameter of 70 cm, while the lower version has a larger diameter of 100 cm.

As for color, a carefully curated selection of hues is applied to the inner folds, while the exterior always features a grey tone.

Tramas Rug Collection

Tramas represents the natural evolution of the research initiated with Ruff: a broader exploration of felt and its graphic possibilities.

The collection is based on the layering of hand-cut and hand-sewn felt bands, creating compositions that combine color, texture, and relief. Each rug is built layer by layer, like a textile architecture that reveals the beauty of what is essential — the join, the stitch, the gesture.

Tramas is rooted in GAN’s craft tradition, yet it reinterprets it through a contemporary language that highlights the precision of handwork and the honesty of the material. A collection that engages with geometry, scale, and light, while maintaining the experimental and poetic spirit that defines Romero Vallejo.
